Fiji Islands chiefs war club made from root stock. Fine example for collectors of oceania. Only chiefs of substantial wealth could own large root clubs with decoration. This club measures 44 inches long and has a spiraling band of incised alternation triangles. It retains its varied fine deep brown old patina. African carved hardwood head sculpture from colonial era Ganda c1950. It was collected by an academic when he lived and worked there. To be quite exact, it is a Kiganda head made by a Muganda from Biganda in Uganda. It measures 9 and one half inches high, and retains its original surface.
